William the Just

William the Just, a fair and weel-loved young king who would later become the tyrant Scourge of Nosgoth, the Nemesis, by the manipulation of Moebius the time-streamer.

Though a king, he was just a minor pawn in the hand of the Guardian of Time. Moebius counseled him from the dawn of his rule, turning him into a tyrant. At about the 30th year of his rule, he ravaged Nosoth and defeated the last remnant of hope, the army of King Ottmar. Fleeing the loosing battle, Kain used the time travel device taken from Azimuth, and traveled back to an age when the young king was still known as William the Just.

Moebius armed William with the Soul Reaver, the ancient and unique sword that Kain also possessed, bringing it through time. The two incarnation of the same blade clashed, and William's Reaver shattered, leaving the young king defenseless before the vampire. His bodyguards only arrived to the scene of Kain draining their king's blood. The vampire fled, through time back to his own age, using a conviniently placed time traveling device near the throne room.

However, he arrived into a different Nosgoth than he remembered. No sign of the ravaging hordes of the Nemesis, nor the army of Ottmar. Instead only the smell of blood and burning flesh from the distance. Kain arrived to the execution of the greatest vampire of his age, Vorador. His death would mark the annihilation of the vampire race, leaving Kain as the last. The charismatic man leading the bloodthirsty mob was Moebius, the Guardian of time. His royal pawn perfectly fulfilled its purpose...
